Top Producer 8i Updates 6

Oct17

Today Top Producer sent out a notice that some upgrades were being made to their contact management system known as Top Producer 8i.  I love it when companies regularly update their products.  As promised, Top Producer is doing a great job with their 8i series with regular, consistent updates.

In this round of updates, TP8i is being expanded to include five major features:  Inbound Spam Filter, Multiple Email Signatures, HTML Email Stationary, New Postcard Templates, and (finally!) support for Firefox 3.

The updates are detailed after the break.

Inbound Spam Filter
Top Producer 8i offers “@topproducer.com” email users greater Spam protection. With the new Spam filter, fewer unwanted messages will reach your inbox, and you’ll be able to mark messages as Spam. Once the Spam feature is turned on, any emails placed into the Spam folder or forwarded from your POP3 to your @topproducer.com account will be automatically deleted after 15 days.

Multiple Email Signatures
Email signatures are powerful advertising and offer more flexibility for targeted mailouts: they effectively tell those you communicate with who you are and what you do. Now, with Multiple Email Signatures, you can create and select from a variety of email signatures in the closing of ALL emails you send, and you can select signatures that best suit your audience.

HTML Email Stationery
Ensure all email communications are consistent with your branding and overall look and feel with the new Email Stationery. Select from a number of different layouts and colors, as well as embedded links to generate new web traffic and point your clients and prospects back to your website. In addition, one of the new Stationery designs includes a “Newsletter” template making it even easier to keep in regular contact with all your contacts and to keep them informed of the latest news and information.

New Postcard Templates
New “Dream Home” and “Interest in Your Area” postcard designs are easy to update and easy to print at home, in the office, or with your marketing company.

Support for Firefox 3
Use Firefox to browse the Internet? Top Producer 8i now fully supports Firefox (version 3) in addition to Internet Explorer 8.

In my opinion, these are some great updates.  I’m really exicted that their are supporting Firefox 3 (how about Chrome anyone?).  The inbound spam filter seems a little wasteful; I don’t know many agents that really use TP8i’s email feature.  I usually find them still using Gmail or Outlook, which is perfectly fine in my opinion.

Having multiple signatures for our email marketing is fantastic!  I know that for agents still working as a team of one, it would be nice to specically tailor your marketing to show various “specialist” titles depending on the type of marketing your sending.  You could use titles such as “Short Sale Specialist” or “New Home Specialists” even.

Not a week goes by that email stationary isn’t brought up with TP8i.  Having this feature expanded upon is a fantastic idea, and agent who really want to save money by sending all their newsletters via email should be cheering in unision.

I’m still an advocate of deferring all your postcards to a company specialized in them (such as QuantumMail).   None the less, it looks like TP8i is looking to persuade you to use their postcards by adding additional templates to entice you.  I don’t really have much experience with sending postcards through TP8i, so I’m pretty neutral on this one.

Support for Firefox 3?  Yes, please!  I’m glad they are embracing the fact that their users use more than just one browser (remember the 7i Internet Explorer days?).  Firefox 3 is amazing and it being supported by TP8i really puts the icing on the cake.

What CMS do you use?  If you use TP8i, what do you think about the new updates?

    Steve,

First off, I’ve enjoyed reading your posts for the past few months. I think this is the first time I’ve gone ahead and decided to comment about something. Do you think that TP is the best option for real estate CM? I’m on the hunt for a program/solution.

  2. Hey, Scott.
Thanks for being a consistent visitor and I’m glad you’ve decided to comment! :)

Do I think TP8i is the best option? Yes. Do I think it’s the best CMS there is? No. Although there aren’t many alternatives.

Act! for Real Estate is nice, but I find it lacks in simplicity for the average agent, plus the up front costs are a big hit to new agent capital. This is why I see TP being so attractive to new agents.

I don’t feel that TP8i is the end-all-be-all solution for a real estate CMS, but I think it does do a very good job and can offer a good ROI. Just be sure to learn how to use Action Plans – this is by far the best feature you could learn to master early on.

  3. As a real estate agent in Jackson Tennessee I have been using top producer for the last 2 years and I love it! I get all my leads forwarded to my blackberry as soon as they come through. It’s not a perfect program, but I don’t think there is anything better at the moment. That’s my 2 cents.

  4. That’s a great way to stay in touch with new leads when you are away from the office.

  5. We bought the last pc version of Top Producer and didn’t care all that much for it. It had a lot of issues and when you patched TP, sometimes your purchased add-ons didn’t work any more. Since then, I’m a little gun shy of their newer versions but I’ve heard a lot of good things about 8.

LivePost is open to all subscibers of Top Producer. The pricing is actually very competative to the companies that require you to order a minimum order of at least 250 cards. LivePost requires no minimum order send 1 card or 1000 for the same cost. Once you submit your order all the work is done for you no labeling or stamping. The cards or letters are professionally printed on high end digital printers. This is done by a professional printer which again requires no minimums such as a Quantum Mail etc…
