The lack of GE Supra eKey support is the reason why I’m sticking with my Treo for now, especially since I no longer have a land line at home to update the DisplayKey. But, I do like the web browser capabilities of the Iphone and I use the browser more than the eKey.

@Michael Reilly: This is precisely the reason why the Treo is so popular among agents. The biggest problem is that no other phones really use infrared, which is what ekey uses to send the signal to the lockboxes.

I’m aware of a release sometime at the end of this year that Blackberry is coming out with that converts their bluetooth to IR to allow the use of eKey on a BB.

The iPhone does not have IR, so I don’t expect them to support the eKey anytime soon.

In my area (Upstate New York), everyone is jazzed about the iPhone but don’t have any service providers supporting it here.

My biggest issue with the iphone is lack of support for GE’s ekey system. I don’t want to go back to the old extra black box i had to carry in addtion to my cell phone. I’m hoping the new developer platform will allow GE to install the supra software on an iphone soon.

My sister got me a new ipod touch for my birthday, basically its an iPhone without the phone part. It is pretty cool. Apple is enjoying its ride ahead of the curve, so I think we’ll see a lot more apps and add-ons for the iPhone in the next year or so.

I recently bought an iPhone and my friend (who is not an agent btw) told me about this new app. To tell you the truth, it’s fantastic! I haven’t really used it enough as I didn’t have enough time to do so but I had a great time going through different sites quickly while I was waiting for a lazy client at star bucks

This is a great tool for on the go. I have used it recently in an airport while waiting for a flight and I didnt have my laptop with me, this gave me something to do and is really is to use.

I use http://reader.mac.com/ to aggregate the RSS feeds and its great that Google have released a iPhone version of their popular Google Reader and this should work for iPod touch?

Great info Steve. I am looking forward to our board of REALTORS updating their list of usable phones with our electronic lock boxes. I currently have a Palm Treo 700P which I have a love hate relationship with. I love that I have it with me all the time and when I need to show a home, or preview a home, I have my lock box key with me no matter what, and the e-mail seems to work well with it. The hate part is that it is clunky, and sometimes locks up and needs to have the battery pulled, which creates a 5 minute reboot which can be a drag standing at a home owners door wanting to access the lock box so you can show the home.

That’s the neatest thing about the iPhone. I’m sure eventually you’ll have a slew of addons for real estate like net sheet calculators.
