One of the tools I see agents using the most are the productivity tools known as Microsoft Office. In real estate, you’re probably using Excel, Word, and Powerpoint almost every day.
Rather than having to fork over nearly $350 for the best of the best (Ultimate) version of Office 2007, why not try to get it for free?
Engadget.com is currently holding a raffle of sorts with the recent announcement of Bill Gates leaving Microsoft, and they’re offering to give away a free non-upgrade edition of Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007. That means it’s the full version; not an upgrade-only.
The winner will be chosen at random among the mass of commenters on this post. Head over to their blog and comment on what your favorite Microsoft (or Apple) product is for your chance to win; the contest ends on Sunday so don’t be too late.
I personally love the XBox 360 and good ol’ Microsoft XP Professional. What about you?

XP rules! I’m comfortable using it, but at least I’m gonna give a try on this chance.

I am too embarrased to say what version of Office I am running on my computer. Let’s just say I better get over there and comment so I have a chance at something I need really badly.

There are 4624 comments already so there is a little chance of winning. I gave up already.

The contest did end on the 29th so I’m sure there are plenty of comments in there that won’t even count.

Hi Tom!
I’m a believer in the saying, “If it isn’t broken, then don’t fix it.”
If your version of Office is working great for you, then I feel there is no need to upgrade at this time. What do you use office for; are you a real estate agent?

I am probably too late for the contest, though I can’t get over how high the price is for office…I tried using just their demo to see if I liked it & what not but they wouldn’t even let me try it because I’m running a corporate licensed microsoft and even though it’s mine and I 100& own it, their little “valid” test doesn’t agree and I’ve got bigger things to worry about than microsoft.
So I get by with what I have, I also really like open office, an open source version - most people don’t have it, but it’s super easy to convert things to pdf which just about everybody can open and read.

Wow this is a bonus stuff for all the real estate dealers indeed but I think I am too late for the contest but surely it’s going to be a fun for sure!

I currently run XP and am extremely happy with it. I actually have the new microsoft version. Microsoft Excel has an entirely new look and takes some getting used to. I am not a big power point user though.

I still believe spending 300 dollars on Microsoft software is a little bit overpriced, but what can we do, we cannot live without office nor Windows.

How nice of them. I have to say I use the produce quite a bit and love most of it. I use MS Publisher lots and think it is their best Office application.
