New Google Reader for iPhone 24
If you like to use Google Reader to get the latest real estate news, plus own an iPhone from Apple, you may be excited to hear that Google has released a new version of their Google Reader made just for you.
Having a reader like Google Reader is a great way to get the latest information from your favorite sites all in one place. If you’re like me, you’ll open plenty of sites each morning and many times througout the day to read up on the latest and greatest.
Google Reader will pull the latest information from each of these sites (as long as they have RSS), and display them for you in an easy to manage format. It’s great to hear that you’ll be able to do the same, along with the intuitiveness of Google, right on your iPhone.
This new version is designed to offer many of the same features as the desktop, while making it quick and easy to act on items. If you’ve used list view, then it should be familiar to you. Scan the titles for an item that interests you, tap and it expands in place. Starring, sharing, and keeping unread are done in place, so you never have to leave the list view or refresh the page. We think it’s a very fast way to power through your reading list.

Thanks for sharing that info. I have iphone and shall be checking that on it. Anyhow I love all those popular rss readers because they are very handy to collect latest mews.
Wow. Google steps it up again. I think I’ll be purchasing an I Phone soon. Thanks for sharing.
Iphone is really powerful, I think i need to have one. Especially this new services and add-ons.
That’s the neatest thing about the iPhone. I’m sure eventually you’ll have a slew of addons for real estate like net sheet calculators.
There are already MLS specific property browsers available for various markets!
Great info Steve. I am looking forward to our board of REALTORS updating their list of usable phones with our electronic lock boxes. I currently have a Palm Treo 700P which I have a love hate relationship with. I love that I have it with me all the time and when I need to show a home, or preview a home, I have my lock box key with me no matter what, and the e-mail seems to work well with it. The hate part is that it is clunky, and sometimes locks up and needs to have the battery pulled, which creates a 5 minute reboot which can be a drag standing at a home owners door wanting to access the lock box so you can show the home.
I use http://reader.mac.com/ to aggregate the RSS feeds and its great that Google have released a iPhone version of their popular Google Reader and this should work for iPod touch?
This looks like a great tool….now all I have to do is switch my service to AT&T and buy an iphone.
This is a great tool for on the go. I have used it recently in an airport while waiting for a flight and I didnt have my laptop with me, this gave me something to do and is really is to use.
I recently bought an iPhone and my friend (who is not an agent btw) told me about this new app. To tell you the truth, it’s fantastic! I haven’t really used it enough as I didn’t have enough time to do so but I had a great time going through different sites quickly while I was waiting for a lazy client at star bucks
@JIM BOYER: You should give iPhone a try. You’ll love it!
Google reader is a great tool and having it on iPhone would be so wonderful. Hopefully, I could buy iPhone, really like it.
Extremely easy to use on the iPhone and can spend hours on end playing with it. We use it for our virtual office and serviced offices industry and it works wonders
Being the cool toy the iPhone sure is getting a lot of net extra addons. Think the next few years is going to bring some interesting advances with mobile technology for real estate agents.
Being toying with buying one of these. The features being offered seems to be expanded daily.
My sister got me a new ipod touch for my birthday, basically its an iPhone without the phone part. It is pretty cool. Apple is enjoying its ride ahead of the curve, so I think we’ll see a lot more apps and add-ons for the iPhone in the next year or so.
I use a Treo, and I’ve been able to justify in my mind not going with the iPhone, but that is so cool – I may just have to pull the trigger and get one.
I wish I had found this site a while back. Not so sure I made the right phone purchase.
Thanks for the tip, it makes my iPhone even better!
I was put off the iphone by the terms of contract and the cheapness of the same deal abroad. A year on, I may now give it another look. Anyone else?
My biggest issue with the iphone is lack of support for GE’s ekey system. I don’t want to go back to the old extra black box i had to carry in addtion to my cell phone. I’m hoping the new developer platform will allow GE to install the supra software on an iphone soon.
In my area (Upstate New York), everyone is jazzed about the iPhone but don’t have any service providers supporting it here.
@Michael Reilly: This is precisely the reason why the Treo is so popular among agents. The biggest problem is that no other phones really use infrared, which is what ekey uses to send the signal to the lockboxes.
I’m aware of a release sometime at the end of this year that Blackberry is coming out with that converts their bluetooth to IR to allow the use of eKey on a BB.
The iPhone does not have IR, so I don’t expect them to support the eKey anytime soon.
The lack of GE Supra eKey support is the reason why I’m sticking with my Treo for now, especially since I no longer have a land line at home to update the DisplayKey. But, I do like the web browser capabilities of the Iphone and I use the browser more than the eKey.
