Christmas Is Great For Social Networking 2
Online social networking for real estate agents is one of those topics that rears it’s head every year. I think we can all pretty much agree that the internet has become a intricate part of our daily activities. Off the top of my head, we check our email online, browse listings for our clients, and promote our businesses through websites that (hopefully) get visitors every day looking for their next home.
With the internet brings the opportunity to meet people all over the world, and this is where online social networking comes into play. Social networking can help agents get their foot in a door that otherwise might seem closed.
Send Out Some Emails
The Christmas season is a great opportunity to network with other real estate agents online. If you’re a proactive real estate agent, you’re probably already sending out emails with season’s greetings to all of your clients in your database. Take a few extra moments and formulate an email for some of your fellow real estate agents that you’ve met in the past. If you haven’t kept track of past agents you’ve met (shame on you!), then start with other agents in your office. Sure you guys are competing against each other for business, but what if another agent in your office gets a lead in an area where they don’t service but you do?
If you’ve kept business cards from agents you’ve met at state and national conventions, be sure to put those agents into your database. Keeping in touch with agents that you’ve met across the country with a monthly email is a great way to promote real estate referrals (who couldn’t use some of those?).
Online Social Networking
I’m certainly a fan of networking online with other agents at sites that have a well established community of agents, and this season is also a great opportunity to visit some of those social sites (like ActiveRain and BiggerPockets.com) to spread some holiday cheer.
In the process, be sure to mention where your real estate business is located, and mention how well you service other agent’s real estate referrals.
