Blackberry Storm 8
Verizon is jumping on the touch screen bandwagon with what looks to be the biggest update to the Blackberry in quite some time.
Verizon’s new Blackberry Storm by Vodaphone features many of the touch screen features that Apples iPhone, Sprint’s Instinct, and TMobile’s G1 look to have, but some could say that the storm has a leg up on the competition even though they’re last to enter to race.
The Storm will feature a new type of tactile feedback with the on-screen keyboard. Unlike the iPhone, the Blackberry Storm will allow you to physically depress the screen in a clicking manner. It’s really hard to explain, but the team over at Engadget has a hands-on article that describes this feature in detail.
Also featured on the Blackberry Storm is 480×360 screen, built-in GPS, an accelerometer (for screen orientation – landscape or portrait mode), a 3.2 megapixel camera, video recording, and a headset jack. There are other common features I could list but these are the ones that are usually the most important.
You may find that the Storm also has a good level of pre-existing corporate users. With a background in being a phone operating system that caters to this audience, you may see better support for email with exchange integration. Many people are ecstatic to see that the Storm also has the ability to cut and paste text.
The phone is set to hit the shelves sometime in November, but the price of the phone has not been released yet.

That is sweet, the part about the indenting screen. Touch screens are coming on strong after they have been in talks for several years.
Maybe I missd something somewhere. Do any of these phones work with the realtor lock boxes?
At the moment, Curtis, only the Treo can do this.
I was just at the gartner expo in orlando this week and had the chance to play around with the storm. It is still a pain to type on. It is better then the iPhone, but still light years behind a qwerty device. Also, its screen rotates like the iPhone and has most of todays bells and whistles options that come with a phone (gps, 3G, cam, vid, etc…). NOTE….This is coming from someone who took back a htc touch and got a blackberry curve because of the lack of typing/texting efficiently while driving…oh and a hatred for integrating google apps with windows mobile. DISCLAIMER…My phone is a business tool and I probably dont represent people who are looking for something for fun and entertainment.
[...] growth?! Come to think of it, with the releases of next generation phones such as the TMobile G1, Blackberry Storm, and iPhone, these numbers don’t seem [...]
That is really cool! I have blackberry phone but it is not like a nice one that you shared.
The Storm is going to rock, however I think the pricetag is weighing in at 500-600USD. Beware!
That is a cool phone.. blackberry is my favorite brand of cellphone.
