That’s correct, Sam. You’ll need a handset that comes WITH Android as the operating system. The only announced one so far is the TMobile G1.

So I can’t use it with my Blackberry – I will need to upgrade to a new phone to get this to work with T Mobile?

It’s very tempting! I know that the plans are affordable and I’m not currently in a contract (currently with Verizon Wireless), so I may get one just to test it out.

They haven’t really opened it up to non-TMobile customers however.

I like platform – not necessarily the handset. I’m surprised HTC didn’t snaz it up like they do with all their other handsets.

It may be wise to wait for another handset to be released (more makers have announced that they are making Android handsets as well, but not until next year), but it’s hard to be patient that long!

It looks so tempting.. but T-mobile? Aghh!! I switched from T-mobile last year because I couldn’t get a signal in my own office! I’ll have to wait for unlocked versions and see what they run. Are you getting one Steve?

I love my iPhone but after viewing this video the G1 is looking tempting. Their biggest down fall, Tmobile. But I hear that Tmobile will be selling unlocked versions… anyone else heard news on this?

I like their mascot that they have. Google sure has made a lot of changes in the last 10 years. They will be making some big advances here in the future with mobile. Mobile internet access is going to be the norm real soon.
