Today, I did some experimenting with Basecamps Tadalist, and started to use it daily for to-do’s and checklist tracking for clients. For the most part, I learned that Top Producer 7i takes care of most of the to-do’s and checklists, but one item I’ve been struggling with is getting a online system for call management. For a techie like myself, I don’t really like to write much or use a pen for that matter, so typing is always the way to go.
The idea popped into my head that Tadalist could be used as a call log; let me explain. Simply create a free account and start a new list naming it “Call Log” or something of the sorts. When you receive calls daily, or check your voicemails, use the simply interface to type in the persons name, number (call time if necessary) and message, and check the task off when you’ve returned the call. What you’ll have is an ever growing list of calls you can always reference back to in case you forgot that leads number.
Though this method may not be the most efficient, I found that bookmarking my Tadalist, having it remember my login information for an easy login, then opening my call log list to start typing was a bit easier and faster (let alone prettier) than my scribbling down notes on post-its and attaching it to my monitor. If you try this method, please let me know what you think by leaving a comment for this post.
