iPhone Update – 3.0.1 Update Fixes SMS Hack

By Steve Castaneda on July 31, 2009 in Mobile - 1 Comment

You might have heard about the latest scare in Apple’s world. A hack was revealed that could literally hijack your iPhone and take it over. The attacker could turn your phone off, call anyone, and open apps (pretty much take it completely over) without you knowing.

All with a text message that could be as simple as a square looking character.

Apple was on the ball and released an update today before anyone really expected it. Make sure you plug in you iPhone and update to the latest version to make sure you’re not haunted and need an exorcism to rid your iPhone of poltergeists.

I updated about 10 minutes ago and the phone seems to work perfectly normal. Not sure why it’s such a big update (over 200mb), but everything looks good.
